The Bufflehead Nestbox has a 7" by 7" floor, 16" inside ceiling, 2 7/8" diameter entrance hole located 14" (to the top of the hole) above the floor and ventilation openings.
Assembled with corrosion resistant screws fit to pre-drilled countersunk pilot holes. Hinged roof is secured with shutter hooks for easy access.

Mount nestboxes for Buffleheads at least 10 feet, higher if possible, on a tree trunk, (6' to 8' if on a post above water), in forest bottomland within 100 feet of a river or pond.



Place some wood chips on the floor. Kestrels, Screech owls and Squirrels may use this box.

Safety First

Assemble woodworking projects in a safe area on a work bench approximately waist high.

Keep hardware and tools away from children.and infants; store away when not in use.

1) Fasten Right Side to Back Panel with screws. 2) Fasten Floor to Right Side and Back 3) Fasten Left Side to Back Panel and Floor. 4) Fasten Front Panel.

5) Fasten Hinges to Roof with Small Screws 6) Fasten Roof and Hinges to Back Panel. 7) Fasten Shutter Hooks to Roof and Sides with Round-head Screws 8) Mount Nestbox with Large Screws at appropriate Height. (see specific species mounting height and habitat.)
